… was it a good or a bad year for you?
Well, looking back on 2006 we can tell who were the winners for this year:
- Number one movie in box office gross was Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest with a total income of 1,065,396,812 $ made world wide. It is followed in the top by The Da Vinci Code and Ice Age 2 : The Melt-Down. Other movies in the top: Cars, X-Men 3, Casino Royale, Mission Impossible 3, Superman Returns, Over the Hedge and Devil wears Prada.
- Best Male Video was won by James Blunt, “You’re Beautiful”.
- Best 2006 Female Video - Kelly Clarkson, “Because of You”.
- Best R&B Video went to Beyonce featuring Slim Thug & Bun B, “Check On It (Pink Panther)”.
- Best Hip Hop Video - Black Eyed Peas, “My Humps”.
- Best Dance Video was won by the beautiful girls from Pussycat Dolls featuring Snoop Dogg, “Buttons”.
- Best Pop Video went to Pink, “Stupid Girls”.
- Video of the Year was declared “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”, from Panic! At The Disco.
- 2006 was the year YouTube became culturally ubiquitous. Declared the invention of the year by Time magazine, the video-sharing Web site had Ohio judges posting their weekly sentencing hearings and spawned countless explosive experiments involving Diet Coke and Mentos candies.

Well it was a fine year for me, moved in a new neighbourghood, bought a new car and created MyLOL, which I and my fellow partner niflostancu won the first prize at infobyte, a prize which I brag with as many times as possible, it really meant something for me. As for Romance, I’ve met my love in early January 2006, and we’re still together (and will be hopefully).
