This is probably the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. If I could keep a straight face I would be doing this REGARDLESS if they annoyed me or not.

  2. Scorpiono

    Hah, glad to hear that..

  3. StoneR

    Literally crying here.

  4. Stupdio von Arresto

This idea can get you arrested and fined incredibly heavily. It can also scare the hell out of a whole planeload of innocent people, cause your plane to be diverted and really mess up a lot of lives other than your own.

  5. Childish

This is childish and has no place in today’s world. Not at all funny…

  6. X

    STFU you stupid bastards…lightn up…its been wut…6 years..damn….fuhkin retards cant take a joke..faggots@@damn i hate people like that….

  7. Erica2368

Wrong on so many levels but hilarious!!!! LOL

  8. Splanky

While I was seriously amused by this, the one dude is right, you probably would get arrested (sad but true). While very funny, not recommended for real life.

  9. Trippingisme

This is bloody funny. Sad that some people can’t see the joke in it, I plan on playing this next time someone comes to my desk to bug me.

    Great work Scorpiono :-)

  10. Rashy

That made me laugh. The author obviously does not actually intend you to do this as you can’t get internet access on a plane (unless you know how to pull this page up from your cache :P), so lighten up, its just a joke and a damn good one :-)

By the way, does anybody know what the writing across the top says?

  11. Melissa

I thought this was frickin’ hilarious, my roomates begged to differ. Maybe just the thought of irritating the irritating.

  12. Ben

How the hell are u suppose to get internet on a plane or train.

  13. charliethefox

anyone saying this is inappropriate is a childish bastard who needs to grow up and get a fucking sense of humor. its funny you know it get over it

  14. lol

HILARIOUS …although you will get arrested…

  15. Lord Von Doosh

When I saw the person’s comment about how it’s illegal and not funny i thought “omfg, get a sense of humor” then I thought “or maybe that person lost someone in a plane crash” and if that’s the case, then sorry. Sad but true, it’s funny, and sick, and funny, and definitely sick. Sometimes you make jokes about retarded people, and you get really good laughs, sometimes you make those same jokes and you get punched in the face cuz the guy your telling it to has a retarded sister. IT’S ALL RELATIVE.

  16. bladed_angels

i thought it was great… im goin to try that to the next person i see

  17. deadwhale

You either laugh or cry. Take your pick. As for me, the crying ended years ago.I thought this was funny and envy the sense of humor of whoever put it together.

  18. Flim

It would get you arrested but nonetheless it’s hilarious.

  19. Scorpiono

I’m deeply sorry for any of those who had anything to lose, I am strongly against this type of irational-actions, so don’t get me wrong. It does have a nice sense of humour, but to those who have really lost someone because of this type of actions, I’m trully sorry.

TAKE IT AS A JOKE. Thanks.

  20. out.cold

ahha very funny.. although it would get you arrested most likely.. Sorry if you did lose someone is a plane crash but all the same
it has a good sense of humor and I almost pissed my pants when I saw it

  21. Offensive

I know that sometimes racist jokes can be funny, but I have a lot of Muslim friends, and although they have a sense of humour about most stuff, this is really racist. Please think about thins kind of thing before you publish it.

  22. Poke

LMFAO! G-d damnit get a fucking sense of humor you nay sayers. unless of course you lost a loved one in this sort of situation. then im sorry ;)

  23. Tut07

    even though i am a middle eastern….damn dude….that’s nice…..and funny…..peace from Egypt

  24. Azimuth

Really funny, the arabic characters dont spell anything though.

  25. Scorpiono

Yeah, it’s definetly not racist, I mean, yes I am racist against terrorists, I hate them, muslims are fine people for me.

  30. nitsedy

Laughing at fear - it’s the American way! And as far as racist…well, what other language should be displayed? Swahili? Quit being afraid of offending people, face your fears, be human, and LAUGH!!! Laugh at the absurdity of it, laugh at the foolishness of those who hate us, laugh at the thought of some idiot being stupid enough to launch this on an airplane….or crawl away and live in fear. As for me….BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  31. argle-bargle

    Hurray for internet censorship!

  32. Scorpiono

It’s not censorship, I’m allowing comments that say bad things about the post as well, I’ve just had a nasty post which I deleted and was definetly not related to FUN, HUMOUR and LIFESTYLE.

    Thanks,

Once more I recomment http://www.mylol.net and he movies from Zango INC (read agreement carefuly) http://www.mylol.net/funnyvideos.php?arg=1 ty!:)

  33. savrasbane

Fined and possibly arrested? If you have the money and you’re not doing anything anyway, its a small price to pay to get a rise out of some people…. Plane diversions, US Marshals and other assorted agencies and events being staged for your benefit are just proof of your existence and if you honestly get arrested and fined for a joke, then something is terribly wrong with this country. Fellow Americans, pull the stick out of your ass and take a joke.

  34. Jarrod

What’s so funny about it? What if no one was looking about it? There it is, the cleverest thing you’ll ever do and no one saw it!

  35. nathan

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, ligthen up ppl he said not to do it so stfu this guy is a genius so let him continue his work damn it

  36. lisa

i definately have a sense of humour, but this supposedly joke i just saw is disgusting. this is not funny, it’s cruel to those who lost their loved ones due to the 9/11 tragedy. ALSO you are NOT allowed to use electronic equipment on planes you dipstick!!! pshhhh some people have NO brains……….

  37. anon

Rashy - The characters are Arabic letters, but it’s just a bunch of letters randomly typed together. It’s all gibberish and doesn’t say anything. Kinda like if you typed “xdfsqdi slkajdqs”.

  38. sky

this was funny but for all you people who are overreacting; lighten up! It says don’t do this in real life, for god’s sake!, give them a break

  39. pj_z

ahahahaha, you are allowed to use electronic equipment on planes, just not during takeoff, numnuts. Laptops are perfectly fine on planes, and you could also pull this stunt on a train, where they are most definitely allowed. so lighten up and be less of a killjoy. its funny, you have no sense of humor, get over it, if you don’t think its funny then gtfo.

  40. Jonata

I don’t know what to say….It’s kind of like a double edged sword. If I think it’s funny I’m “insensitive and sick.” If I get all angry, then I “don’t have a sense of humor.” I personally think it is funny, and don’t call me racist. I’d laugh at a joke about America too! Hey, even if it was about me or my mom I can take a good laugh. Unless it was about Japan….don’t go there, don’t ask. Still, this is funny for ME and not necessarily the whole world….sorry for you offended people but, I’m not worried! :p

  41. paul

very funny someone will have to try it but not in america they are anal
and most likley to get sued

  42. Jason

I laughed so hard I puked!

  43. comments

    Offended? Ahhhhhhh…too bad

  44. Stefan

The joke was really funny! It’s almost funny enough to try it! but I think i won’t dont like to get in trubbel that much =) And Rashy you don’t need internet to show that webbsite! You can youse Opera then you can save the sites in offline mod and you can watch it over and over again! So sry that argument doesn’t work, :P Hehe had to say something abot that =)

  45. Stefan

And i don’t know if some one said anything beafore.. I am to tired to read all comments =(

  46. Tony

This is the funniest thing I have ever seen. I know that you are not supposed to do this, but this is extremely funny.

  47. D-BorG

Great joke. But I don’t really get the illegal part. So it’s illegal to have laptop, its illegal to play .swf file. With that action u didn’t do anything that can put in danger airplane, U didn’t say don’t anybody move or ill blow this .swf file… And besides u didn’t meant to show it to anyone. It’s just your screensaver, or something like that, and you certanly did nothing to alert the public. If the next seat passenger is to curious, well thats his problem, and by the way isn’t it more illegal then to look at other ppls computer screens. I mean there could have been your bank account number or something.

  48. cxsdtek

lol. I love it! but people need to lighten up– no, the actual events on 911 were NOT funny, but this sort of thing is known as dark HUMOR… kinda like dead baby jokes. no, dead babies aren’t funny in real life, BUT this isn’t real life we’re talking about here! c’mon! it even comes with a disclaimer at the bottom: “Do not try this, we are strongly against it in real life”

    /rant

very funny to talk about, tho you’d end up on the news somewhere if you actually did it… XD

  49. DocZayus

You could probably pull it off anywhere in the world ‘cept the US.

  50. stevie

funny as fuck.all yous sad cunts moaning about it go fuck yourselves

  51. stevie

    fannies

  52. santiina

Wow…I cant belive how many people cant take a joke! This is funny and they know it!!! (Just as log as nobody try it..)

  53. Caleb Licata

    hilarious! thats so awesome!

if i had a laptop… and the ability to be on a plane, i’d do that! (and no, you couldn’t get arrested)

  54. RG3

    @Offensive:

It’s hardly a racist joke. The joke is on people who over-react to highly unlikely things, not Muslims.

And anyone who thinks a countdown timer for a laptop bomb is really going to look like that has seen too many action films.

  55. regexp

while amusing it wouldn’t be wise to do this on a plane anywhere (unless you owned the plane)…

its the same as yelling fire in a crowded theatre and you can and will get arrested in many countries…

    @RG3

You fail to realize the basic fact that in general people are stupid and reactionary

  56. regexp

one other thing - if someone next to me on a plane did this - i would immediately report them without delay …

For no other reason that it would open up the seat next to me.

    [grin]

  57. Dan H

I could see you getting arrested, just because people are so paranoid today. But what would you be charged with? Assuming that you did not draw attention to it, what laws are you violating by opening a website?

  58. MarkH

    Funny. :)

To all those crying and bitching about it: Congratulations, you are giving the terrorists exactly what they want. You are now scared and timid people who are afraid to see the lighter side of life.

  59. hehe

If I saw that I would be like “wtf”, but I wouldn’t start screaming or bitching or anything like that. Come on, if it was a bomb, you’ll die anyway, just die and stfu :p.

  60. Ken Koff

Since the “joke’ is to suggest the plane is about to be blown up, wouldn’t it be just as “funny” to don some Muslim headdress, stand up, and open your jacket to display a realistic imitation of a bomb on your belt?

  61. Ivor Biggun

I’m sick and tired of tight-ass Americans getting all wound up about stuff they don’t understand - it’s like the entire race has the collective IQ of a cockroach. If you didn’t all spend your whole lives running around blowing each other up (V.Tech, Collumbine etc) between blowing up other countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc) you might be a little more comfortable about yourselves and not feel threatend by someone’s sense of humour… grow the F up.

  62. radiantmatrix

Unfortunately, in the US you *could* get arrested for pulling this joke — it would likely be classified as a bomb hoax, and you’d be charged in the same way as someone who calls in a false bomb threat. The thought of this is absolutely hilarious, but I sincerely hope no one attempts to actually do this.

People are very easily scared, and even though their fears are really unfounded, it isn’t funny to prey on those fears; and it certainly isn’t funny to divert a whole plane full of people who are traveling just to get your kicks.

Again: conceptually hilarious, but would lose the humor if some idiot actually tried it.

  63. Dan

even before 9/11 it was illegal to do things like this. The first amendment does not protect someone from “falsely shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic.” -OWH

  64. Dan

    but it is still hilarious

  65. Brian Carnell

Of course Holmes used that reasoning to justify arresting people who were handing out pamphlets opposing WWI and advocating for Americans not to comply with the draft to said war…and Holmes later changed his mind.

Thankfully, the SC later overturned that decision. Not a useful cite IMO.

  66. leon

    heart less

  67. TallDave

Gee, thanks. I tried it and now I’m being waterboarded every 1/2 hour at Gitmo.

When I get out of here, I am so forwarding you every email chain scam I ever get.

  68. carpundit

It is funny, but dangerous. If the person you’re sitting next to is an Air Marshal, it could get you shot. (He’s only got ten seconds to process the whole thing, and one of his choices is to shoot you in the head and “disarm” your device.)

  69. PDGripp

Each of the Arabic words across the top is backwards and it seems that the entire sentence is a jumble, too. Reorganized it reads something along the lines of “exchange/amend the security forces to/that Egyptian” Grammatically it’s jacked up.

Prolly a random copy from an article about the recent amendment to the Egyptian constitution.

  70. That Guy

Seriously funny…but the whole 9/11 thing was 6 years ago. It happened, it’s done, now get over it. Life goes on, etc.
The only reason people don’t make light of it more, is because the gov’t is telling you that it’s still an imminent threat.
Stop being a bunch of mislead sheep and learn to think for yourselves.

  71. rougegoat

you guys seem to be forgetting that there was no bomb on any of the planes that supposedly(i say this due to the current debate on whether they were jumbo jets or not) hit the towers, pentagon, or even on Flight 93. i mean, come on. if anything, this would be a reference to all the plane bomb scares from before then.

it’s not a 9/11 joke at all, and if “That Guy” really thought for himself, he’d have realized that.

  72. Sarah

I travelled by mini bus from Krabi, Thailand to the Malay border last year with my husband and 2 children. The locals could travel further but, as westerners, we were kicked off at the border. All the passengers had luggage except one young guy, no bags, serious looking Muslim. He said he was going to KL for a few days but he had no bags whatsoever - just a laptop. weird. I was sitting next to him and If he’d done that I would have seriously wet myself :) There were no problems and I guess he was just “travelling light”. Yes! the world has had some awful things happen but if we can’t learn to laugh in the face of fear then fear wins!

  73. Matt`

You could open it while offline by right-clicking the link and saving the target to your hard drive, then open it in your web browser later

  74. Cezar

I think its funny but it shouldnt really be done if you are sitting with someone you dont know because it can become an issue. Great Idea nevertheless. lol

  75. differnet

Lighten up…no, it’s not a good idea to do it for real, but it IS funny. What’s NOT funny is the Patriot Act, Guantanamo, Bush and his cronies, the 3000+ US soldiers killed in Iraq for a lie, unknown thousands of Iraqi civilians killed……the list goes on and on.

  76. hugo

wait, that’s not funny? bit i’ve been laughing about the Patriot Act and what such for months!

  77. RW

I think it’s rather clear that the point is to make that ONE irritating person panic and freak out. After which you close that window (Alt-F4 or CTRL-F4 for tabs). So you embarrass the heck out of him or he stops bothering you since you seem crazy.

People really overreact and that’s what makes this funny. I see people calling this offensive, perhaps it is if it was meant to scare everyone around you at that time but the joke is only aimed at that one annoying person (who probably deserves it much). If you think it’s racist, just use a countdown timer that doesn’t have any words on it (I do find the Arabic words quite pointless).

The unfunny part is probably if you really do scare him until he gets traumatised or something. He could sue you for that - and actually win. It’s true that you can be charged for causing fear to people about that safety (such as pointing a gun at someone in a threatening manner, even if it was empty).

Although I understand why people don’t find this funny
    I find it incredibly hilarious.
    You need to lighten up.
Everybody deals with stress in different ways.
Just because I choose to LAUGH at the situation, instead of crying about it like you, doesn’t mean I’m a bad person.
That means I’ll probably live a longer, stress free life.
I mean if this isn’t funny, then you must be incapable of laughing at anything humorous.

  80. Awesome!

    HAHA!!!!!!!!!! Hilarious! Praise Allah!!!!
This would be funnier if the countdown timer started from 1 minute, to give the guy next to you some time for it to really sink in, plus you can start praying while you have your head tilted up to the sky.

LOL, Funny. But speaking seriously, this could really scare quite a lot of people, of which none deserve that sort of treatment.

  85. DSMRT

Enough of people being so ridiculously politically correct. Have a snese of humor already. Those who would take offense need to get a sense of humor, learn to lighten up, laugh, and most of all remember to not sweat the little stuff .. after all it’s all little stuff.

Great humor on behalf of the author!
